In Not Raised by Wolves, you play as a revolver-wielding coyote lady making her way through a mysterious AI facility, supported by a loyal drone. The game may only last 10 to 15 minutes, but it packs a surprising punch. So far, Steam users have given it a perfect 100% positive rating.

Not Raised by Wolves is a new free-to-play title released on Steam on October 1. Developed and published as a student project by Vancouver Film School – which previously gained attention with Rage Quit – the game puts you in the role of La Coyota, a revolver-toting coyote on a mission to rescue her colony's kidnapped pups. With a trusty drone at her side, she fights her way through an abandoned AI facility.

Gameplay revolves around fast-paced third-person action, built around a single weapon: a revolver with two firing modes – rapid fire and precision shots. You’ll use it to take down robot spiders of various sizes. To survive, you’ll also need to dodge incoming attacks and make smart use of your drone, which can stun enemies, expose weak points and help land critical hits. Not Raised by Wolves is a mini-game with a playtime of just 10 to 15 minutes, but that doesn’t seem to bother Steam players so far.

The game has received overwhelmingly positive feedback on Steam. At the time of writing, all 44 user reviews were positive. Players praise the satisfying gunplay, responsive hit feedback and impactful damage numbers. The visual style and level design have also been well received. The main points of criticism are the short playtime and low replay value – but since Not Raised by Wolves is completely free on Steam, most players don’t seem to mind. Steam Deck (currently listed for $600 on Amazon) compatibility is still marked as "Unknown" and has yet to be confirmed.
