Axon 40 Ultra: ZTE teases under-panel camera and three 64 MP cameras for the 'perfect version' of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
The countdown to the Axon 40 Ultra has started, which ZTE has confirmed will arrive on May 9. In the meantime, the company and its executive have been sharing teaser images on Chinese social media, such as Weibo. The prospect of the Axon 40 Ultra has got one respected leaker excited, too.
Writing on Twitter, @UniverseIce remarks that the Axon 40 Ultra's design 'surpasses the S22 Ultra' and that it even looks like a 'perfect version' of Samsung's latest flagship smartphone. The leaker adds that the Axon 40 Ultra does not rely on a Samsung display panel but still manages to have the smallest chin of a smartphone with a curved display.
Moreover, ZTE has confirmed that the Axon 40 Ultra will sport an under-panel camera, shown in its teaser images. Incidentally, the company has also divulged that the Axon 40 Ultra contains a trio of 64 MP rear-facing cameras. Specifically, ZTE has equipped the Axon 40 Ultra with 64 MP primary, ultra-wide-angle and periscope telephoto cameras; there are no details about the device's front-facing camera yet. It is unclear whether ZTE will sell the Axon 40 Ultra outside China, either. Presumably, ZTE will host a separate launch event if it plans to do so.
