Rumor | The Axon 40 Pro will launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and up to 1TB of internal storage
The under-display camera (UDC) smartphone pioneer ZTE launched the Z40 Pro (or NX701J) through its sub-brand Nubia in 2022. Now, a device with nearly identical specs has been certified by the Chinese regulator TENAA al over again. However, it has a different model number this time: A2023H.
Its registration has sparked rumors that this is to be a successor to the Axon 30 Pro of 2021. Then again, its new official leak contains an image of a front panel that seems to lack a visible selfie camera of any kind, much like the Axon 30.
Therefore, this new model could combine a third-gen UDC with a very Samsung Galaxy Note-like chassis and possibly even a camera hump with a prominent central lens.
Then again, there is no guarantee that the new Axon will have the Sony IMX787 behind a 35mm-lens that has been exclusive to the Nubia flagship thus far. However, it is more certain that it will have a SKU with a massive 1TB of internal storage, thanks to its new TENAA listing.
