Rumor | Asus will launch a new ROG Zephyrus Duo of a different size
The ROG Zephyrus Duo stands out easily among PCs of its category thanks to its Screenpad Plus, a secondary touchscreen display Asus has developed to live beneath the laptop's 'normal' 15.6-inch panel, with a variety of use-cases from comment-tracking to extra gaming content and control. Now, it seems the OEM might be refreshing or updating the device with even more screen, and, thus, even more Screenpad.
The prolific leaker Evan Blass has posted an image of what is claimed as a new 16-inch Zephyrus Duo. The laptop in question looks almost identical to existing models, except that it should obviously expand a little in various dimensions. On that note, there is a hopeful sign of a taller main display compared to the current designs, possibly hinting at a 16:10 or perhaps even 3:2 aspect ratio in this alleged upcoming gaming PC.
This prospect as a whole is fairly plausible - Asus does call its current crop of dual-screen ROG-series laptops the Zephyrus Duo 15 (and Duo 15 SE), after all. Their "Duo 16" sibling's new render gives no hint of its specs: there is little room for badges that might suggest a reprisal of the 15 series' RTX graphics around its unusually low keyboard and side-mounted track-slash-numberpad, after all.
Should this "new Duo" truly launch soon, Blass indicates it might do so alongside a new foray into the TWS earbud market. These putative accessories are now depicted as AirPod clones, albeit ones with an extensively re-designed, pendulum-like appearance, presented in a charging case with a more unique cyan charging LED and what seems to be a wired adapter. To date, there are no hints as to when either new device might launch.
