Apple iPhone 17 Pro (Max): Apple unveils six cases and magnetically adjustable crossbody strap
The Apple iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max not only feature a brand-new design, a 48 MP telephoto camera and Apple's most powerful processor yet, but also a significantly expanded range of accessories. In doing so, Apple apparently no longer wants to leave the case market largely to third-party providers.
The manufacturer offers six different protective cases, starting with a new TechWoven case intended to replace the fragile FineWoven cases. The case is made from 100% recycled polyester, making it particularly environmentally friendly. A slightly textured TPU coating makes the case more grippy. Like all Apple cases, the TechWoven case supports MagSafe and the camera shutter button. The price is $59.
Alternatively, Apple also offers a $49 Silicone Case that offers more vibrant colors, a smoother surface, and is made of 45% recycled silicone. The new iPhone 17 Pro Clear Case, which is no longer fully transparent with a partially white back, is available for $49. The case is said to be relatively scratch-resistant and won't yellow over time.
Apple offers three Beats cases
Furthermore, Apple offers three cases with Beats branding, starting with the Rugged Case for $79, which is designed to provide iPhones with particularly good drop protection thanks to thicker, shock-absorbing side panels. The regular Beats Case for $45 is slightly thinner and cheaper, and is made of polycarbonate with a matte finish.
An interesting addition is the new Beats Kickstand Case, which not only protects the iPhone 17 Pro for $59, but also adds an innovative stand attached to the case with a wrist strap. This strap, along with the stand, can be removed if necessary.
Crossbody strap enables transport without the need for a pocket
Lastly, Apple offers a crossbody band for $59, which is available in ten different colors. The shoulder strap can be attached to the TechWoven case or the Apple silicone case to hang the iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max over your shoulder, allowing you to carry your smartphone. The strap is made entirely from recycled PET fibers, and integrated magnets allow the length to be adjusted continuously from 1.08 to 2.08 meters.
