It seems that Anbernic could have another gaming handheld on the horizon, despite not releasing the RG35XX Pro or RG Slide yet. For context, Anbernic will be opening RG35XX Pro pre-orders later this week. By contrast, it is currently unclear when the RG Slide will be available. With that being said, the company tends to start selling devices within a month of releasing initial teasers.
Apparently, another new Anbernic gaming handheld could be hot on the heels of the pair mentioned above. For the time being, Anbernic has not confirmed anything. Instead, images of a so-called RG477M have begun circulating online.
As its name suggests, the RG477M is said to feature a 4.7-inch display that outputs at 1,280 x 960 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio. By those specifications alone, it appears that Anbernic is re-using the display from the RG Slide, which also provides a 120 Hz refresh rate across its LTPS IPS panel.
The images also mention a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset that can already be found inside the RG557. Incidentally, Anbernic is expected to use the same chipset inside the RG Slide. By the looks of things, Anbernic is developing the RG477M with a metal shell to match older models like the RG353M and the RG405M (curr. $169.99 on Amazon). While more details remain unknown for now, we imagine that the RG477M will officially debut later this month or early next month at the latest.
