Most people who pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 started to receive their consoles. Unfortunately, you might have to wait longer if Nintendo doesn't officially sell the console in your country. However, the delay won't be that long in India because some enterprising sellers have already started stocking the new handheld.
Mumbai-based retailer Mcube Games has a listed the Nintendo Switch 2 on its website. You can pre-order it now for ₹59,990 (~$700), remarkably higher than its global prices. And this is for the console alone. The Mario Kart bundle will cost you more, but there are no active listings at the time of writing. In an X post, Mcube confirmed the delivery process will start in a week, which is consistent with their website's tentative June 11 shipping date.
But this is to be expected because the sellers are themselves paying marked up prices for the Nintendo Switch 2. That can be as high as EUR 500 ($571) for the base version and understandable more for the bundle, according to one retailer who spoke to industry analyst Rishi Alwani. Essentially, you can get a PS5 (₹54,000/$629) and an extra AAA game (₹5,000/$58) for the price of a Nintendo Switch 2. Not an ideal situation, but this is usually the case with newly launched unofficial hardware.
Interestingly, Nintendo Switch 2 games have already started to hit shelves on certain storefronts. Because Nintendo doesn't have an official presence in India, the console has to be imported from elsewhere. In this case, most Switch 2 units originate in the Middle East or Hong Kong. A retailer told Alwani, "Prices should normalise by August or October latest, when the Switch 2 is out in more countries, our costs get better".
