Anbernic has now released the RG476H globally after its usual short teaser campaign. Following on from last month's RG477M, the RG476H adopts a full glass front to mirror the premium finishes of other popular Android gaming handhelds like the Retroid Pocket 5 (curr. $259 on Amazon).
However, the RG476H is less powerful than the Retroid Pocket 5 and the RG477M that precedes it, which is reflected in Anbernic's launch pricing. Nonetheless, the Unisoc T820, its Mali-G57 MP4 GPU and 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM are powerful enough to play Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 games at a 960p upscale. Likewise, the RG476H can emulate PSP games at a 3x upscale. Conversely, the Unisoc T820 can only push Gamecube and PlayStation 2 games to their native 480p resolutions.
As the image below shows, the RG476H centres around a 4.7-inch IPS display supported by a 5,000 mAh battery. Not only does the display deliver a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 1,280 x 960 native resolution, but it also peaks at 500 nits with a 120 Hz refresh rate. On top of that, the RG476H features 128 GB of expandable UFS 2.2 flash storage, Hall effect joysticks and a six-axis gyroscope, all within a body that weighs 176 x 86 x 16 mm and weighs around 290 g.
The Anbernic RG476H starts at $149.99 with no microSD card. Alternatively, Anbernic is offering its latest gaming handheld with 128 GB and 256 GB microSD cards for $164.99 and $179.99, respectively. All SKUs will be configurable in Black, Indigo and Retro Grey colour options too. Please note that Anbernic will raise these prices by $15 on September 22 at 10:00 UTC.
