Acer Nitro 14 gaming laptop launches with Ryzen 8040, GeForce RTX 4000 and 120 Hz QHD display from €1,399
The traditionally comparatively inexpensive Acer Nitro series has a new addition - a 14-inch model that offers an unusual form factor. Acer has opted for a 14.5-inch display in 16:10 format, offering significantly more space than many direct competitors, especially in terms of height, which also makes the device more convenient for working on the move.
The panel achieves a 120 Hz refresh rate, 2,560 x 1,600 pixels resolution, and fully covers the sRGB color space. The top model uses an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS with eight performance cores (16 threads) based on the Zen 4 architecture and boost clock frequencies of up to 5.1 GHz, as well as Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR6 graphics memory. Acer does not mention the TGP of the Nvidia GPU in the press release.
Acer installs two fans in the compact casing and equips the CPU with a liquid metal thermal interface to keep the components cool even under continuous load. The gaming notebook has two USB-C ports, including one with support for USB 4 with data rates of up to 40 Gbit/s, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader. Stereo speakers, three microphones, a keyboard with four-zone RGB lighting, and an Experience Zone app, which is used to control AI functions, round off the features.
Prices and availability
The Acer Nitro 14 (AN14-41) is expected to be launched in June 2024 for a recommended retail price starting at €1,399. Acer has not yet confirmed the specifications of the base model.
