Some renders and the specifications of the Honor 8S smartphone have been leaked online. This entry-level device apparently will be powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 processor and will likely feature 2 GB RAM, although there may be a regional variant with 3 GB. The Honor 8S has a selfie camera in a waterdrop notch but still comes with thick bezels.

Renders of the forthcoming Honor 8S have been leaked and the entry-level smartphone looks extremely ordinary. There is a waterdrop notch front and center that takes care of the selfie camera, but if you want a bezel-less phone you better look elsewhere. Not only does the Honor 8S have bezels surrounding its 5.71-inch HD+ display, but its chin is also large enough to have “HONOR” emblazoned on it quite visibly.

Still, OEMs don’t always go for aesthetically pleasing designs when it comes to budget smartphones. The Honor 8S allegedly packs a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC inside its clunky-looking frame, and there is a 2 GB/32 GB model and possibly a 3 GB/64 GB variant for Western Europe. In terms of cameras, selfies can be taken with a 5 MP camera while the single rear-facing camera has a 13 MP sensor.

Android 9 Pie (EMUI 9.0), a 3020 mAh battery, microUSB port, and a microSD slot (up to 256 GB support) round up the rest of the details, and there are several color options available for the Honor 8S: blue, black, and even gold. No pricing has yet been offered, but it’s unlikely the Honor 8S smartphone is going to break the bank.
