There have already been rumours that Samsung plans to combine the Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Watch series, with the Galaxy Watch4 replacing both the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3. Now, the name Galaxy Watch4 Classic has emerged in multiple certification listings.

There have already been hints that Samsung would only release smartwatches under the Galaxy Watch4 brand this year, even though successors to the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 are due. Multiple certifications at the Thai NBTC have essentially confirmed this, seemingly discovered by XDA Developers. To date, Samsung has certified three model numbers belonging to the Galaxy Watch4 series: SM-R875F, SM-R885F and SM-R895F. Equivalent model numbers have already been seen at the FCC, so it seems that this trio will be sold globally, not just in Thailand.

Not only do the listings confirm these device's model numbers, but their marketing names as well. Samsung refers to two of them as the Galaxy Watch4 Classic, branding that the company last used on its Gear smartwatch series. There is also a model called the Galaxy Watch4, indicating that Samsung will sell the Watch4 and Watch4 Classic simultaneously.

91Mobiles has already revealed the former's design, which resembles the Galaxy Watch Active2. Hence, we suspect that the Galaxy Watch4 Classic will be the follow-up to last year's Galaxy Watch3. Galaxy Watch4 Classic's renders have not leaked, but we know that it will run One UI Watch. Samsung has only showcased One UI Watch with circular displays, so we imagine that the Galaxy Watch4 Classic will not stray too far from the Galaxy Watch3's design.
