Philips Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA: New gaming monitor unveiled with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.5 ms response times

Philips has unveiled the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA, a 27-inch gaming monitor that launches alongside the Momentum 5000 32M1N5800A. Designed for 'fast-paced competitive gaming, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA supports up to 240 Hz refresh rates at 1080p and 0.5 ms MPRT response times. The gaming monitor also features AMD FreeSync Premium to minimise image tearing and retails for £320.

Philips has unveiled the 27M1N5200PA, a Momentum 5000 series gaming monitor that it sells for £320. According to the manufacturer, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA delivers 'virtually lag-free gaming' because of its high refresh rate and fast response times. Specifically, Philips equips the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA with a 27-inch IPS panel that has W-LED backlights. Additionally, the display operates natively at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and at up to 240 Hz.

Moreover, Philips claims that the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA has 0.5 ms response times (MPRT), which rises to 1 ms when measuring Grey to Grey. Also, Philips has included AMD FreeSync Premium support to minimise image tearing and a low input lag mode to maximise responsiveness. Incidentally, Philips boasts that the gaming monitor covers 110.2% of sRGB, 95% of NTSC and 87.1% of AdobeRGB. Likewise, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA should ship with sub-2 Delta E deviations (sRGB).

Philips adds that the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA should deliver up to 400 cd/m² of peak brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Separately, the company includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection; both support HDCP 2.2, even though the monitor peaks at 1080p.

Furthermore, the Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA comes with four USB 3.2 Type-A ports (downstream) and a single USB Type-B that handles upstream. The Momentum 5000 27M1N5200PA has dual 5 W built-in speakers, but it also has a 3.5 mm audio out should you prefer to use speakers or headphones.
