Philips has unveiled the 27B1U7903, a 27-inch and 4K monitor aimed at professionals. The Philips 27B1U7903 also has mini-LED backlights that deliver up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. The professional monitor has a four-port USB hub too, among other features.

Philips has presented a new professional monitor, albeit only in China for the time being. According to the manufacturer's website, the Philips 27B1U7903 has a 27-inch IPS panel with a 60 Hz refresh rate. The Philips 27B1U7903 also runs natively at 3,840 x 2,160, yielding a 163 PPI. While these are relatively unimpressive specifications, the Philips 27B1U7903 utilises mini-LED backlights.

Supposedly, Philips has included 2,304 dimming zones that deliver a 1,300:1 contrast ratio and 1,400 nits of peak brightness when displaying HDR content. Accordingly, the monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certified, which means that it covers 95% of the DCI-P3 65 colour space too. Philips claims that the monitor covers 97.2% of said colour space for reference. Additionally, the monitor peaks at 1,000 nits for SDR content and offers 4 ms response times (GtG).

Moreover, Philips has equipped the 27B1U7903 with two Thunderbolt 4 ports. The monitor can only charge a laptop with one of these ports; although it can do so at up to 90 W. By contrast, the other port can power accessories, such as an external SSD.

Furthermore, the Philips 27B1U7903 has a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, two HDMI 2.0 ports and a four-port USB hub. The Philips 27B1U7903 has twin 3 W speakers as well, along with a 3.5 mm jack for external audio equipment. Unfortunately, details on pricing and availability outside China remain unknown at this stage.
