Acer is currently holding a sale on its Aopen HC1 gaming monitor for $70 USD off the original launch price of $300. The deal is notable for its features and large display size relative to the new asking price.
The monitor offers all the standard gaming features users have come to expect including FreeSync support to eliminate screen tearing, fast 4 ms response times at its best, and a fast 144 Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay. We also appreciate the reasonable 1440p native resolution instead of 1080p which would have been too pixelated for many users.
The main drawback to keep in mind its VA panel. When compared to IPS, VA has narrower viewing angles and can suffer from "smearing" due to its slower black-to-gray response times. If you like to share your screen with others nearby or play/view a lot of content with bright white colors against dark backgrounds, then a standard IPS panel may be the better option.
