Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti gets leaked benchmarks, launches in February

Rumors about non-RTX Turing GPUs have been making the rounds since October 2018, but Nvidia did not really care to clarify the situation when it only revealed the RTX 2060 at CES earlier this month. Immediately after CES, unnamed sources claimed that the non-RTX models would bear the GTX 1660/Ti denominations and these would allegedly be sporting TU116 SKUs. Just recently, trusted leaker Tum Apisak also unveiled a few performance figures citing an Ashes of the Singularity benchmark he found online. Apparently, these versions will feature desktop as well as laptop SKUs.

As far as specs are concerned, the GTX 1660 and its Ti variant will obviously feature no ray tracing cores and will get the same 192-bit memory bus found on the RTX 2060, along with the same 6 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The main difference is in the Cuda core count, as the GTX 1660 would get 1280, and the Ti variant 1536. No info on the TDPs, but these are expected to be under the 160 W required by the RTX 2060.

The AOTS benchmarks reveal that the GTX 1660 Ti should be almost on par with the GTX 1070, and around 20% faster than the GTX 1060. Unfortunately, there is no info on the GTX 1660, but since this model is expected to have the same Cuda core count as teh GTX 1060, performance gains might be minimal.

Regarding the MSRP, the new GTX 1660 cards should bridge the gap between the GTX 1060 and the RTX 2060 models, so prices could amount to US$250-300. WCCFTech mentions that the unannounced GPUs should be launched in February, most likely 1 month after the RTX 2060.
