Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is now the top-selling game on Steam. Developer Asobo Studio has also confirmed that the game will be available on Steam the same day as the Microsoft Store release on August 18. Flight Simulator 2020 will also offer support for VR, TrackIR, and the upcoming HP Reverb G2 headset.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has been garnering a lot of attention ever since the first beta was released to select testers ahead of the game's August 18 release. Last week, developer Asobo Studio confirmed that the game would also be available on Steam. Less than a day of this announcement, Flight Simulator 2020 has topped the Steam top-sellers list.

Asobo Studio took to Twitter to announce that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is now on the top of Steam's best-selling charts even before release. Following Flight Simulator 2020 are Grounded, Fairy Tail, and Destroy All Humans!. Alleviating previous concerns, Microsoft confirmed that Flight Simulator 2020 will be available day one on Steam alongside the Microsoft Store version.

When the first Flight Simulator 2020 preview landed during E3 2019, many felt that a VR version would be do justice to the grand visuals. Now, Asobo has confirmed that the game would indeed be getting support for not only VR but also for TrackIR and the upcoming HP Reverb G2 headset.

For those not in the know, TrackIR is a head tracking device designed for PC games and simulations offering full six degrees of freedom (6DOF) with low latency in full 4K HDR. TrackIR support will be available on day one. The HP Reverb G2 is an upcoming VR headset designed in collaboration with Valve and Microsoft. The Reverb G2 offers 2,160 x 2,160 resolution per eye with a 90 Hz refresh rate. A free VR update for all players will be available coinciding with the release of the Reverb G2 headset this fall.

Flight Simulator 2020 will be continuously updated with new features and possibly with newer textures and even more handcrafted airports and cities. Support for peripherals from Honeycomb Aeronautical, Logitech G, Thrustmaster, Virtual Fly, and others will be made available via an updated SimConnect interface.
