With the 3rd generation iPhone SE now over two years old, rumors concerning the 4th generation of the iPhone SE series have been far from scarce on the internet. With a potential launch date set for early next year, and considering the recent plethora of leaks surrounding the device, enthusiasts of Apple's budget iPhone surely have a lot to look forward to.
Just recently, we covered a leak from the prominent tipster who goes by the name 'Fixed Focus Digital' on Weibo that mentioned the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will feature a design that closely resembles the iPhone 16, albeit with a single rear camera. This is in contrast to previous expectations, which indicated an iPhone 14-based design.
Now, Ice Universe, another prominent tipster on Weibo, has shared information regarding the future iPhone 17 lineup, as well as the iPhone SE 4 - the latter of which seems to be getting upgrades that will be sure to please the fans of the device. For starters, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to boast a 60 Hz OLED panel, making it the first in the series to receive the OLED treatment. Further, although the device is most certainly going to rock a single camera setup, it will, however, be a 48 MP unit, which will be a welcome improvement over the current generation iPhone SE and has been rumored for a while now.
Apart from this, the iPhone SE 4 will also rock the upcoming iPhone 16's A18 SoC paired with either 6 or 8 GB of memory and a substantially larger 6.06-inch display. As per previous reports, the device is also expected to gain the 'action button' - a user-configurable button that sits above the volume controls which made its debut with the iPhone 15 Pro (currently $812 on Amazon US) series. With all these potential upgrades in mind, the iPhone SE 4 sure looks like an attractive device. That is, of course, only if Apple manages to price it conservatively.
