Chuwi has started selling a new version of the LarkBook, a 13.3-inch and lightweight laptop that it launched last year. Chuwi has made one notable change, but the issues we had with the original model will probably remain.

Chuwi has quietly upgraded the LarkBook, a laptop that we reviewed in December. Currently, the company sells the newer model through AliExpress, although it is unclear if it plans to sell it through other channels.

The new variant has a touchscreen, which its predecessor lacks. However, Chuwi has kept the laptop's resolution at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels; hopefully, sRGB coverage remains at over 90%, too. We would be surprised if Chuwi colour calibrated the new panel at the factory, though.

Unfortunately, Chuwi has stuck with the Intel Celeron N4120, a Gemini Lake processor that performed poorly during our tests. Similarly, Chuwi has included a keyboard backlight or a larger battery, either. Thankfully, the new LarkBook is just as lightweight as its predecessor, as we discussed in our review of the latter.

Chuwi sells its revised LarkBook for US$469.99 on AliExpress, albeit only in 'Silver Gray'. Currently, the company ships the laptop from China. The listing implies that the LarkBook will be eventually orderable from Russia and Spain, though.
