Released mid-November 2022 with an MSRP of US$1,199, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 video card is now available for more than US$1,000 in most cases. As usual, factory overclocked versions with addressable RGB lighting and military-grade components are often priced close to (or even higher) the reference GeForce RTX 4090, which launched for US$1,599 in the middle of October 2022. The Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 OC Edition (TUF-RTX4080-O16G-GAMING) has a list price of US$1,399.99 on Amazon, and the ongoing 14% discount brings it straight to US$1,199.

The highlights of this video card include axial-tech fans that were designed to provide 23% more airflow compared to the reference design, while the dual-ball fan bearings employed last twice as long as conventional designs. Asus also chose to use military-grade capacitors that can handle extreme temperatures of 105 degrees Celsius for up to 20,000 hours. The TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 OC Edition is built with a metal exoskeleton that provides both structural rigidity and vents that improve heat dissipation.

The performance tweaking and system monitoring of this factory-overclocked GeForce RTX 4080 is done using the GPU Tweak III software suite, which also provides accurate thermal controls. The preset GPU clocks are 2,595 MHz (Boost Clock, which is 75 Hz higher than Nvidia's setting for the reference design) and 2,625 MHz in OC mode. The software suite mentioned earlier allows the user to push these clocks even higher (alongside the memory speed, which has a default value of 22.4 Gbps). Aura Sync RGB lighting is also present.

Connectivity-wise, this card comes with 2 X HDMI 2.1a and 3 X DP 1.4a outputs. The additional power comes via a single 16-pin connector, and the Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 OC Edition requires at least a 750 W PSU.
