ASUS announces ROG Strix XG32AQ and ROG Strix XG32UQ gaming monitors

ASUS has shared more information about the ROG Strix XG32UQ, a gaming monitor that the company announced last month. Incidentally, ASUS has also outlined the ROG Strix XG32AQ, which offers different specifications to the ROG Strix XG32UQ in an identical-looking chassis. Unfortunately, ASUS has not confirmed when the ROG Strix XG32AQ will be available, nor how much it costs.

For now, ASUS has only revealed that the ROG Strix XG32AQ is a QHD alternative (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), to the ROG Strix XG32UQ, which runs at 4K. Additionally, the ROG Strix XG32AQ operates at up to 175 Hz in overclock mode, 15 Hz higher than the ROG Strix XG32UQ. By contrast, the ROG Strix XG32AQ offers 95% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, compared to the 96% coverage that the ROG Strix XG32UQ manages. The ROG Strix XG32AQ has a 32-inch IPS panel like its sibling though, which also delivers 1 ms GtG response times with VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification.

Hence, the ROG Strix XG32AQ and ROG Strix XG32UQ should offer up to 600 nits of peak brightness and 10-bit image processing. ASUS adds that the ROG Strix XG32UQ has HDMI 2.1 ports too, implying that the ROG Strix XG32UAQ lacks this functionality. Currently, ASUS continues to state that the ROG Strix XG32UQ will be available in Q3 2022. In other words, the monitor should be available before the end of September. However, ASUS has at least confirmed that the ROG Strix XG32UQ will retail for US$539. Presumably, the ROG Strix XG32AQ will cost less than the ROG Strix XG32UQ; ASUS has not confirmed pricing for other regions yet.
