Chinese OEM Xiaomi released the Mi 9 and MI 9 SE about a month ago. Since then, the company has shipped a million units of the Mi 9 worldwide, and half-a-million units of the Mi 9 SE—a device that's currently exclusive to the Chinese market.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE back in last February and has announced that it has shipped 1.5 million units of the devices since then. The company claims that it has shipped a million units of the Mi 9 flagship and half-a-million units of the sub-premium Mi 9 SE.

While the Mi 9’s figure is impressive, the Mi 9 SE’s are even more so, since unlike the Mi 9, the SE is only sold in China for now. It just goes to highlight Xiaomi’s dominance in the Chinese market and mid-range segments.

The Mi 9 SE is currently exclusive to the domestic Chinese market but there has been information hinting towards a global launch in the near future. As with all things Xiaomi, nothing is set in stone, however. Considering how well the device has done in China so far, we expect the company to bring it to other markets.

Note that shipment numbers don’t equate to sales. There is a strong correlation, though.
