Xiaomi rumored to be working on two flagship smartphones with pop-up cameras

XDA Developers has published an interesting report claiming that Xiaomi is working on two flagship-level smartphones that will not only sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 but will also come with pop-up cameras. The information derives from firmware code that has been thoroughly scoured for clues about what the Chinese manufacturer could be up to.
Xiaomi hasn’t released a smartphone featuring a mechanical pop-up camera yet, but the company has never been shy about embracing innovation or trying out new ideas – so it seems more about “when” rather than “if” Xiaomi will produce such a device. According to the same source, the two smartphones being developed are codenamed “davinci” and “raphael”.
Of course, now there is speculation about which device or series name Xiaomi will choose to brand these SD855-powered smartphones with. Both the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 and Pocophone F2 have been suggested, but at the present this is just pure guesswork. However, it is believed the Mi Mix 4 could end up being Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone, which would rule it out as either “davinci” or “raphael”.
