Xiaomi refreshes Redmi Pad Pro tablet with new release
Xiaomi has quietly refreshed the Redmi Pad Pro, which initially debuted in April. For context, the Redmi Pad Pro shares the same underlying hardware as the POCO Pad (curr. $326.90 on Amazon). Thus, the Redmi Pad Pro features a 12.1-inch IPS display that outputs at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, 120 Hz and 600 nits, which Xiaomi complements with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and a 10,000 mAh battery.
Additionally, the Redmi Pad Pro was previously sold in three memory configurations. For reference, these varied between 128 GB and 256 GB of storage plus 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Now though, it is possible to configure the tablet with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which puts it on par with the Pad 6 Pro in this regard.
While the Redmi Pad Pro is available globally, its new 12 GB variant is not just yet. Instead, Xiaomi is only selling the new SKU in China, where it can be purchased in Dark Grey, Light Bay Blue and Smoke Green colour options. Currently, the tablet's 12 GB of RAM variant retails for CNY 1,999 (~$282), which is a mere CNY 200 (~$28) more expensive than its equivalent 8 GB counterpart. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether a global release is planned.
