Xiaomi launches new version of UltraThin magnetic power bank: Only 6.75 mm thick

Xiaomi has launched a new Jinshajiang Ultra-thin Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh in China, less than two weeks after releasing the 10,000 mAh model. The new accessory is an upgraded version of the 6 mm-thick, 5,000 mAh UltraThin model released earlier this year. At 6.75 mm, the new model is a touch thicker, but it adds two useful upgrades.
To recap, Xiaomi’s Jinshajiang power banks use high-energy-density silicon-carbon batteries to keep their designs thin. The new 5,000 mAh model is only 6.75 mm thick and weighs 105 g. That said, Xiaomi has now upgraded the wireless charging speed from 15W to 20W, while wired charging now maxes out at 27W via USB-C, up from 22.5W in the original. However, wireless charging is still limited to 7.5W on iPhones.
The other major upgrade is safety. According to Xiaomi, the new power bank complies with the GB 47372-2026 safety standard, which includes stricter requirements designed to reduce the risk of battery-related fires and explosions. Like the previous model, the power bank attaches magnetically to the back of phones for wireless charging. In addition to Xiaomi’s 17 and 18 series, it should work with recent iPhones and Android phones such as the Google Pixel 11 series.
Pricing and availability
The Jinshajiang Ultra-thin Magnetic Power Bank 5000mAh is now available in China for 299 yuan (~$44.55). Buyers can choose from silver, black, and a new burgundy colorway to match the Xiaomi 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro phones. Xiaomi has not announced a global launch date, but the previous model is available outside China, including in the UK.
