Xiaomi launches safer 10,000mAh power bank with 55W fast charging and retractable cable

Xiaomi continues to expand its power bank lineup with new models certified under the latest safety standard. Also known as GB 47372-2026, the standard requires strict testing, including needle penetration and exposure to high temperatures, to help reduce the risk of battery-related fires and explosions.

The Xiaomi Power Bank Retractable Cable 10000 55W is the latest addition, and it comes with a few useful features. For one, it includes a 70 cm (2.3-foot) retractable USB-C cable, so you don't need to pack a separate cable. When you need to top up multiple devices, the power bank has extra USB-C and USB-A ports that let you charge up to three at once.

The power bank delivers up to 55W through either the built-in cable or the USB-C port when charging a single device. Xiaomi says it can take an iPhone 17 Pro (Notebookcheck review) from empty to 64% in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the USB-A port tops out at 22.5W, ideal for smaller devices. There is also a small display that shows the remaining capacity, temperature, battery health, and real-time output.

According to Xiaomi, the power bank measures 90 x 50 x 41 mm (3.54 x 1.97 x 1.61 inches) and checks in at 260g. It's still fairly portable, but there are lighter options, like the 204 g Oppo Pocket Charge power bank. That said, the retractable cable stays out of the way when not in use to keep things tidy. The Xiaomi Power Bank Retractable Cable 10000 55W is now available in China for 299 yuan (~$45) and comes in black, gold, and purple.
