Xiaomi has now expanded its battery upgrade program to include the Xiaomi 14 series and two other devices. Opting in provides the Xiaomi 14 Pro with a 5,140 mAh battery—up from the original 4,880 mAh unit—at a cost equivalent to under $30.

Since earlier this year, Xiaomi has slowly begun providing battery upgrades-cum-replacements for its older devices in China. The company offered battery upgrades for devices in the Xiaomi 13 series, as well as a slew of other models, and has now also expanded the program to include devices like the Xiaomi 14 series models.

As shared by Experience More on Weibo, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro headline Xiaomi's battery upgrade program this time. The standard Xiaomi 14 gets its battery upgraded from 4,610 mAh to 4,795 mAh, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro gets bumped up to 5,140 mAh from 4,880 mAh. Two other devices benefit as well: the Redmi K70 gets upgraded from 5,000 mAh to 5,220 mAh, and the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro goes from 4,700 mAh to 4,930 mAh.

Xiaomi claims this program upgrades the batteries to newer, more energy-dense silicon-carbon batteries, keeping the physical sizes unchanged. That would also explain why the Xiaomi 14 Ultra doesn't enjoy an upgrade like its stablemates—it already launched with a silicon-carbon battery onboard. This program remains limited to the Chinese market, and costs CNY 189 ($28), although a 20% discount temporarily takes that down to CNY 151.2 ($22.5) for the first week of October.
