The hotly anticipated Redmi K30 series is due to be released tomorrow, but Xiaomi has demonstrated the capabilities of its six cameras in a series of marketing photos. The series will be the first to feature the Sony IMX686, a 64 MP camera sensor that succeeds the popular IMX586. While the IMX686 will likely take impressive shots in its own right, the macro camera that the Redmi K30 series also possesses looks top-notch too.
Referred to as a 2 cm macro lens, the sensor looks capable of capturing fine details of small objects like figurines and fibres. The sensor also seems to have surprisingly good dynamic range. However, please keep in mind that these are likely the result of multiple attempts shot in perfect lighting conditions. We would not rule out these sample pictures having been subjected to some image editing, too.
The sample pictures demonstrate the 120° field of view of the K30 series' ultra-wide-angle camera, along with the device's capability of shooting in RAW. The night shot below looks particularly arresting, but we shall reserve judgment until we get our hands on a K30 handset. Xiaomi has given us a glimpse of the capabilities of the primary front-facing camera, a 20 MP sensor. We suspect that the bokeh effect applied here has been created by the K30 and not added subsequently, as there are some background and foreground blurring issues.
Are you excited about the Redmi K30 launch tomorrow? The series is expected to have a 6.67-inch display, a 4,500 mAh battery and 30 W fast charging among other hardware.
