84% Xiaomi Redmi K30 review

Having Realme breathing down Xiaomi's neck has turned out for the better - while they fight - we all win. And the Redmi K30 is an obvious winner even if it's limited to China for now. With that screen, performance, camera, battery, and $300 or so price - it's impossible to lose. Until non-5G Realme X50 arrives, that is. Then it could be a tie. But that's a topic for this one future article.

Redmi K30 review: Immense value in a difficult ecosystem
Source: Android Authority English
The Redmi K30 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, which shares space with the power button. This is nice in some regards because it’s a natural place for you to rest your thumb, but if you pick up the phone differently and a different finger touches the sensor, the phone will vibrate to deny you entry. Rear-mounted has always been my placement of choice, but this is subjective based on the user.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G

The Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G is considered the cheapest 5G smartphone ever since its release. Some reviews even claim this smartphone brings an immense value in a difficult ecosystem. Despite being a mid-ranger in few aspects, the Redmi K30 5G managed to beat high-end flagships with some of its features. This smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 765G SoC. While the ‘G’ stands for ‘gaming’, the Snapdragon 765G can boost the CPU performance by 20 percent and the overall GPU performance by 40 percent when compared to the earlier models that incorporated a Snapdragon 730G. Apart from that, the Redmi K30 5G also has a 120Hz display. Now, it is entirely subjective to argue whether someone really needs such a display, but it is undeniable that there is indeed a vast difference between a 60Hz and 120Hz display in terms of user experience. The Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G incorporates an LCD display, which actually means that the phone will have to illuminate the whole display instead of individual pixels. There are definitely no pure blacks and bright whites as with an AMOLED display in this smartphone, but that is not entirely a bad thing, as there is more to look for in this phone. The model carries a screen size of 6.67 inches for a more premium and immersive user experience.

When it comes to the cameras, the Redmi K30 5G includes two front cameras and four rear cameras. The rear cameras are the new 64MP Sony IMX686, an ultrawide 8MP sensor, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The two front cameras are a 20MP selfie camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera caters for heightened sharpness in good light settings. However, the rather flat color profile of the model does not entirely support varied skin tones, making the image quite unpleasant. The camera also features RAW format support, Mimojis, Super Night Scene Mode and other AI-based features. The Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G holds a 4,500 mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Well, as the claims have it, this could possibly charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent within an hour. As far as the software is concerned, the model incorporates MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box. There is also an added feature within the Redmi K30 5G known as Mi Share, which allows seamless file transfer between other Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme and Oppo devices. This phone comes in various colors including Blue, Red, Purple and White. This gives more options for users to choose from, as some are more concerned about the colors available than the specs themselves. However, it should be noted that despite it being the cheapest 5G smartphone as of now, the Redmi K30 5G will only work on sub-6Hz networks and not mmWave.

82% Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Smartphone Review: A 5G smartphone with a 120 Hz screen at a bargain price | Notebookcheck
The Redmi K30, sold as the POCO X2 in India, relies on high-end features like 5G connectivity, a 120 Hz panel and the new Sony IMX686 image sensor. It starts at around 250 Euros (~$270) though, undercutting even a significant portion of most current mid-range smartphones. There are downsides though, as our review will discuss.

Redmi K30 5G Review: Totally Different Phone as Compare 4G Version
Source: Igeekphone English
If you are not in a hurry to upgrade 5G, and you want to wait for the 5G tariffs to be gradually lowered and the 5G construction to be fully completed, then “check-in and get on the car”, and have higher requirements for a comprehensive experience beyond the high refresh rate screen and performance. The price is sensitive, so the 4G version of K30 can be completely included in the first choice. For those who want to upgrade 5G but can’t afford too much budget, the Redmi K30 5G version is “cheap and sufficient”, with a minimum cost of 1999 yuan. It is really worth it.
