No matter if you call it the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 or POCO F1, that particular smartphone was a huge success for the Chinese manufacturer with a reported 700,000 units having been sold by the end of 2018 (the smartphone was released in March 2018). The device was credited with offering impressive components, such as a Snapdragon 845 SoC and 6/8 GB RAM, for an affordable price. Trademark application documents have now been spotted for the POCO F2, which could mean that Xiaomi will soon release a much longed-for successor to the F1.
Along with the great processor and considerable amount of memory, the Pocophone F1 also pleased users with a decent 4,000 mAh battery and good cameras, which scored an impressive 91 points in DxOMark’s review. Obviously, Poco fans will be hoping for more of the same with the Pocophone F2, naturally with almost the best components 2020 can offer, considering Xiaomi should be aiming to price the phone in a manner that would repeat its predecessor’s success.
It feels like it has been a long wait for the Xiaomi Pocophone F2, but as has been pointed out the trademark application for the Poco F1 was revealed shortly before the smartphone itself was launched, so the same thing could be on the cards for the POCO F2. News of the shared documents has been taken with some skepticism, although one optimistic Twitter user has put forward February 27, 2020 as a potential release date, based on the time it took between the original Poco F1’s trademark reveal and actual release.
