Rumours about the Pocophone F2 have been circulating since as early as January, with a recent certification raising hopes for the arrival of a new Poco device. However, besides a launcher, Xiaomi has not released anything Poco for over a year. The Chinese company has no offered anything concrete about a new Poco device either, until now.
As originally spotted by Piunikaweb, the General Manager of Xiaomi Indonesia, Alvin Tse, has been dropping hints at something new from Poco, and soon. In a now deleted tweet, Tse stated the following:
You will hear more from POCO in 2020 ♥
Now, this could just be the fated Android 10 update for the Pocophone F1. An OS upgrade, which would remain on the same version of MIUI as the Pocophone F1 is already on, would not necessarily be something to crow about. It would make more sense for Xiaomi to have another Poco device planned, but that is speculation. You can still read the tweet here via the Wayback Machine.
If a Pocophone F2 is on the cards for next year, then it would be unlikely to arrive before the Mi 10, Xiaomi's flagship of 2020 flagships. Xiaomi announced the Mi 9 in February, so the Mi 10 will likely follow suit. The F2 will probably sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC too, but without some of the more expensive features that the Mi 10 series will have. Roll on 2020.
