Plenty of leaks about the Xiaomi Pad 5 have started springing up as the company gets closer to unveiling its Snapdragon-powered tablet. For instance, it seems both the release date or launch date and the actual availability date have been revealed for the global model. It’s more than clear that the Xiaomi Pad 5 will be unveiled at the Chinese OEM’s big product launch event on September 15. An image tweeted by Xiaomi states “more than phones” with a tablet-sized frame corner surrounding a smartphone-sized frame corner.
On top of Xiaomi’s teasing, another source has shared some more images of a Xiaomi smartphone resting on the Xiaomi Pad 5. While the release/launch date appears set for September 15, excited would-be owners might have to wait a little longer to actually get their hands on the tablet, at least according to information accidentally leaked by the Spanish-language site for French retailer Fnac. Availability and the price tag of the 128 GB variant of the Xiaomi Pad 5 with Snapdragon 860 are shown as September 23 and €399 (US$471), respectively.
That sub-€400 price tag conveniently matches with the amount that was recently leaked by a Belarusian retailer. Along with being teased by Xiaomi and featuring on yet another retailer site, the global Xiaomi Pad 5 model also appeared on Geekbench running on Android 11 and sporting 6 GB RAM. Lastly, Xiaomi detective Kacper Skrzypek states that the Pad 5 tablet also got the useful MIUI memory extension feature in beta ROM form, which means it will likely make its way to the global model of the device in due time.
