Reviews for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is a thin and light mid-range smartphone with the new Snapdragon 780G. Despite its lower price, it manages to beat the Xiaomi Mi 11 in some areas.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G provides an average battery experience overall, and the last 10% of its charge drops faster than expected. However, even with a slightly smaller battery than its competitors, it offers more than two days of autonomy with moderate use, as well as a good charging experience.

Mi 11 Lite 5G represents a small jump in price but it could be the best mid-range device at this price. As an affordable alternative to the flagship MI 11, the MI 11 Lite 5G reflects a bold 2021 design and also indicates technical improvements but with a pocket-friendly price tag. The phone manages to do all this with a sleek design that is as skinny as it is light. The phone does have a plastic frame but its glass back looks and feels really premium.

I guess the main selling points are already in its name: it has 5G, and it truly lives up to the Lite in its name by being really lightweight. Unlike most of Xiaomi’s recent mid-range devices, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is really thin and light, making it perfect for daintier hands. If you find the recent crop of smartphones too hefty for you, physically and also in terms of pricing, the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE might be worthy of consideration. Overall, Xiaomi delivers yet another decent mid-range device, with a focus on being light and thin to accommodate different target markets, rather than just going all out for performance. I do that will be enough to entice some to pick the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE over other mid-range devices available in the market.

With a sleek design, an excellent 90Hz AMOLED display, and a near-flagship level of performance from its Snapdragon 780G chip, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is one of the best phones available for the money. It’s an extremely well balanced device, with few of the glaring compromises that usually accompany such an affordable phone, though it faces a stiff challenge from its competitors.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is near the bottom of the company’s Mi range of phones (above the baseline Mi 11 Lite, which doesn’t have 5G connectivity). It features a 6.55-inch 90 Hz AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, and is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 780G chipset, backed by 8 GB of memory and up to 128 GB of storage. There are three cameras on the back: primary, ultra-wide, and macro modules. It’s the same configuration as the phone’s big sibling, the Mi 11, but different sensors in the modules make for a different performance profile.

The thinnest 5G phone in the world also happens to be an elegant and well-rounded handset. Xiaomi's MIUI software won't appeal to everyone and you can get more power for your money elsewhere, but the Mi 11 Lite 5G's merits mean it's uniquely desirable.

The Mi 11 Lite combines a lightweight design with standout hardware and great cameras, making it an enticing overall package. Xiaomi did a brilliant job bringing over the best features from the Mi 11 to a more affordable price point, and if you are in the market for a mid-range phone, you'll find plenty to like in the Mi 11 Lite.

We can't think of a slimmer, tidier looking 5G handset - which makes this Xiaomi something of a unique proposition. And despite being called 'Lite', it shouldn't be seen entirely in that regard - there's ample power to keep the 90Hz AMOLED screen ticking along, and for battery life to last surprisingly long too. Ditch the 5G need, however, and there's plenty of other competition to consider instead.

Moreover, without enduring large plastics and sacrificing performance, you can harvest at a starting price of 2,299 yuan. It may be the lightest and thinnest 5G mobile phone today-the thickness is only 6.81mm, the weight is only 159g, and there is also a 33W fast charge with 4250mAh. The battery, even full-featured NFC, infrared remote control, linear motor, high-quality AMOLED high-swipe screen, this work is indeed worthy of the experience.

In general, the Snapdragon 780 is a big leap forward for this device segment, much improving the device experiences you can expect from a “high mid-range” or “premium” range device, and should prove itself a solid foundation for many other 2021 devices.

Overall, Xiaomi surprised us with yet another offer that's really tough to pass. If your budget is about €400 we see no other reason you should not get this phone - it's another Xiaomi that gets our big thumbs up.

Xiaomi is selling the Mi 11 Lite 5G for ¥2599 in China and €369 in Europe. At these aggressively low prices, Xiaomi obviously had to compromise somewhere, which is why the Mi 11 Lite lacks wireless charging, an IP water resistance rating, or an in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, the phone comes with a 33W wired charger and uses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The latter may not actually be a bad thing, as it’s easier to find by touch and very fast to respond.
