Xiaomi 15 Ultra tipped to launch with a colossal battery with 80W wireless charging

A recent leak predicted the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra wouldn't get much in the way of battery upgrades and recycle the same tech found in its predecessors. Xiaomi's upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, on the other hand, is in for a massive capacity upgrade.

An X post from a noted leaker states it will pack a colossal 6,000 mAh battery with 90 Watt wired charging and 80 Watt wireless charging. While the charging wattages are identical to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the 6,000 mAh cell offers a 1,000 mAh increase in capacity. It is almost necessary, as the power-hungry Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 powering the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will need all the juice it can get. Even the regular Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are tipped to get battery upgrades.

Other notable upgrades on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra include a camera sensor that is larger than an inch, two improved telephoto sensors, one of which offers 5x optical zoom and 200 MP resolution. It could be the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 found on the Vivo X100 Ultra. Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 15 Ultra at MWC 2025, several weeks after the regular Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro.
