Waterproof 14g LED flashlight with 168 hours of battery life launches for $16.90
The latest EDC flashlight from Tank007 is designed to be small enough to go unnoticed even on a keychain. The aluminum housing is just 38 millimeters long, with a diameter of 15 millimeters, and weighs 14 grams, including the battery.
To achieve these compact dimensions, the Tank007 E25 does not include a built-in rechargeable battery, USB-C port, or charging circuitry. Instead, it uses three LR44 button batteries ($5.49 for a 6-pack on Amazon). The batteries are rated for a runtime of 168 hours. The flashlight delivers a brightness of 100 lumens, which should be sufficient for nighttime walks or reading.
The beam is said to have a range of 50 meters. The battery compartment is equipped with a child safety lock to prevent small children from accidentally swallowing the batteries. The flashlight’s housing is IPX8-certified, making it waterproof. The Tank007 E25 has no buttons at all, to turn it on and off, you must twist the rear part of the housing.
Pricing and availability
The Tank007 E25 EDC flashlight is now available for pre-order on Kickstarter, with shipping expected to begin in September. The version with a 14-gram aluminum housing costs 132 HKD ($16.90) as part of the Kickstarter campaign. The manufacturer lists the titanium version at 300 HKD ($38.30). Shipping is free, but prices do not include import sales tax and customs duties. Tank007 is an established flashlight manufacturer, however, delays or quality issues can never be completely ruled out with crowdfunding campaigns.
