Volvo is flexing its muscles ahead of the world premiere on January 21, 2026. The new Volvo EX60 boasts specs that are sure to turn heads. In addition to an enormous range of over 800 kilometers, the SUV features extremely high charging capacity and comes with its own AI supercomputer.

The new, fully electric Volvo EX60 will celebrate its premiere on January 21, 2026, as the car brand's new premium SUV. Volvo promises a range of up to 810 km (503 mi) on the EX60. Remarkably, this figure applies to the all-wheel-drive version. Even more impressive is the charging speed, whereby the car can extract up to 400 kW from appropriate charging stations. According to Volvo, this enables a range of 340 km (211 mi) to be recharged in just ten minutes. This puts the EX60 in a league previously reserved for high-end sports cars.

HuginCore: Supercomputer on board

Under the hood is a completely new computing architecture called HuginCore. Named after a raven from Norse mythology, the system combines hardware from Nvidia and Qualcomm, and achieves a computing power of over 250 trillion operations per second. The supercomputer not only controls the infotainment system via the Snapdragon Cockpit platform, but also processes the sensor data for autonomous driving in real time via the Nvidia Drive AGX Orin chip.

First car with Google Gemini

Volvo is the first manufacturer to integrate the Google Gemini AI assistant directly into the vehicle, which is set to revolutionize voice control. Instead of rigid commands, drivers can have natural conversations with the car. Gemini can search for hotels from emails, check packing lists or plan road trips. Future updates will even enable the AI to analyze the surroundings using the vehicle's cameras and answer related questions.
