Volcon has unveiled a new e-bike for road cycling and off-roading, the Brat. The electric bicycle has a 750 W motor that can help you at speeds up to 28 mph (~45 kph) across four power modes. A 750 Wh 48 V battery provides pedal assistance for over 70 miles (~113 km) when using Level 1 assistance; this estimate reduces to 30 miles (~48 km) when you use modes 2, 3 or 4. You can fully recharge the battery in around seven hours.
There is a full suspension system, with inverted telescoping adjustable forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. Hydraulic disc brakes help to provide short stopping distances, and 20-in x 4-in (~51 x 10 cm) tires also help provide a comfortable ride. A 4-in color LED shows information such as your journey distance and speed, and you can connect to the vehicle via Bluetooth to view more information in the accompanying smartphone app.
The bike has LED headlights, rear lights, and a lockable storage compartment with a USB port, allowing you to charge gadgets on the go. The bicycle has an exo-arch frame, similar to the Volcon Grunt, and it weighs 86 lbs (~39 kg) overall. You can currently reserve a Volcon Brat for US$2,799 in blue and black. Reservation holders can expect to receive their electric bikes in November.
