The Raleigh Trace electric bike is now available. The e-bike has an Ebikemotion X35 rear hub motor, assisting you at up to 16 mph (~25 kph) with three power modes. Unlike similar vehicles, there is no digital display; instead, you can switch between assistance modes using a button built into the bike's frame. However, it is rumored that an upcoming Raleigh app will enable you to view information such as battery charge level.
A 250 Wh battery can power the motor for up to 50 miles (~80 km) and fully recharges in around four hours. Also fitted to the Trace are Tektro R280 Flat Mount hydraulic disc brakes, a Shimano Acera rapid-fire nine-speed shifter and 700x40c WTB byWay tanwall tires. The bicycle has front and rear lights, a rear carrier and Curana mudguards.
The bike has a crossbar aluminum 6061 frame and a rigid tapered carbon fork. These help to keep the electric bicycle relatively lightweight, weighing 16.5 kg (~36 lbs). You can buy the Raleigh Trace e-bike in the UK for £2,199 (~US$2,549) in either Copper or Blue, with a range of available frame sizes, from 42 to 55 cm (~17 to 22-in). The Trace joins Raleigh's 16-model e-bike line-up, which includes hybrid, folding and cargo vehicles.
