Haibike Lyke lightweight electric mountain bike arrives with Fazua Ride 60 drive unit
The Haibike Lyke has been launched as the company’s lightest electric mountain bike. The pedelec uses the new Fazua Ride 60 system with a 250 W motor, delivering up to 60 Nm of torque and a 430 Wh battery; the company does not indicate the top speed or range of the e-bike.
There is the option to increase the range with a 210 Wh extender battery, and an LED hub indicates your battery charge level and assistance mode. This also includes a USB-C port which you can use to charge your smartphone on the go. You can connect your smartphone to the device via Bluetooth and view statistics and settings in the Fazua app. The Ride 60 system weighs 4.2 kg (~9.3 lbs) which, combined with the carbon frame, means the bike weighs as little as 18 kg (~40 lbs). The bicycles can support loads up to 120 kg (~265 lbs) and are equipped with 29-in x 2.4-in (~74 x 6.1 cm) Maxxis tires.
Three models are available: the Lyke 10, Lyke 11 and Lyke CF SE. There are several differences between the bikes such as the suspension systems, with RockShox and FOX variants used, plus a range of Shimano brakes fitted to each model. You can buy the Haibike Lyke electric bicycle in Europe for £5,699 to £8,799 (~US$6,607 to ~US$10,202) or €6,499 to €9,999 (~US$6,469 to ~US$9,952).
