Vivo has released a new update for its X200 Ultra flagship ahead of schedule, packed with changes aimed at improving the device's camera capabilities in various areas. Not only that, but the company has teased that sRAW support and other camera upgrades will be arriving before the end of the month, too.

We have waxed lyrical about the excellent cameras that the Vivo X200 Ultra contains since its release in April. Not only does the device feature some of the best camera hardware of any modern smartphone, but it also features excellent image processing with a comprehensive camera app. Moreover, Vivo's Photography Kit puts those that Xiaomi sells for its recent flagships to shame.

Nonetheless, Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao has now shared that the company has finalised a new batch of camera improvements that it is pushing to the X200 Ultra this month as v15.5 software. Originally planned to land later this month, v15.5 is said to optimise Vivo's portrait mode by refining bokeh accuracy.

Moreover, it seems that the new update improves image processing speed too, while also introducing Clear Blue Tone and Classic Positive Film photo styles. The camera improvements do not end there for the X200 Ultra either. Writing on Weibo, Vivo clarifies that it will be adding dynamic photo editing later this month too, which will allow you to disable portrait blue and live shots as needed.

On top of that, the X200 Ultra is set to gain Small Resolution RAW (sRAW) support in its landscape and night modes. Offered at all focal lengths, sRAW will provide greater flexibility during post-processing than shooting in JPEG. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether Vivo intends to bring these camera features to other recent flagships like the X Fold5, though.
