Vivo S50t launches in new variant with Snapdragon SoC and periscope camera

Vivo has launched a new smartphone model, the Vivo S50t Vitality Edition, initially available in China. The base variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage is currently offered at a promotional price equivalent to around $440. Information regarding global availability is not yet available. The higher-tier configuration retains 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM but doubles storage to 512 GB of UFS 3.1. Interestingly, the standard Vivo S50t can be configured with up to 16 GB of RAM, utilizing faster LPDDR5X memory instead of the LPDDR5 found in the Vitality Edition.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a chip nearly three years old that has previously been used in handsets like the Honor 400 Pro. Up front sits a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,750 x 1,260 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, ensuring smooth visuals during everyday use and gaming.

The camera system features a 50 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera handles video calls and self-portraits. A 6,500 mAh (24.70 Wh) battery provides power, supporting fast wired charging at up to 90 W, though wireless charging is omitted.
