Earlier this month, those who were avoiding Vivaldi Browser because the lack of a mobile version have lost that excuse — at least as long as they use an Android handset because there is no iOS version available yet. Although Vivaldi for Android is still in a Beta stage, the desktop version has just made the move from 2.7 to 2.8.
Unfortunately, Vivaldi 2.8 only comes with a rich set of fixes and optimizations, but there are only four items in the "New" section of the changelog:
- Keyboard navigation added to the bookmark menu bar.
- Resizable width for the columns of the bookmark manager.
- Support for hovering across the horizontal menu or the bookmarks bar.
- The ability to toggle images using the keyboard combo Ctrl+Alt+Shift+I.
Now, Vivaldi Sync can synchronize data between installations on Linux machines, Macs, Windows PCs, and Android handsets. Overall, Vivaldi 2.8 is snappier and more efficient than its predecessor and — for those who care about such tiny details — we are talking about version 2.8.1664.35 with Chromium 77.0.3865.78 inside.
Those who missed it so far should also check out Vivaldi for Android, which has been downloaded by more than 100,000 people already and holds a Google Play rating of 4.0/5 after 2,266 user reviews.
