Valve lists the 100 most-played games on Steam in 2024
Valve has a dedicated page in the Steam store that lists the best of 2024. This dedicated page has different main categories, and one of them ranks the 100 most-played games of the year. Under this main category, there are sub-categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Among these sub-categories, Platinum has the games that ranked between 1st to 12th, Gold ranks between 13th to 24th, Silver lists the titles that are placed between 25th and 50th, and Bronze has the rest. It's worth noting that the main differentiating factor for these sub-categories is the peak player count.
For example, here are some of the Steam games that reside in the Platinum rank for reaching over 450 thousand peak player count:
