Unihertz Jelly Max: Compact smartphone comes with cutting-edge SoC and a decent battery - a new keyboard model is being planned

Unihertz advertises itself as a developer of "unique smartphones for niche groups of people." These are usually extremely compact, rugged or come with unusual features such as a QWERTY keyboard. In this context, the company is preparing to launch the smallest 5G smartphone onto the market, the Jelly Max, and has provided some information about the specs of the compact device.

Accordingly, Unihertz has installed the Dimensity 7300 SoC in the Jelly Max, which features four Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55 cores. According to the company, the LPDDR5 RAM has a capacity of 12 GB and the size of the UFS 3.1 storage is specified as 256 GB. It is currently unclear whether different storage variants will be launched and whether the internal storage can be expanded.

The battery is specified as having a capacity of 4,000 mAh. By comparison, the Xiaomi 14 is a smartphone in a normal format and is equipped with a 4,610 mAh battery, so buyers of the Jelly Max do not have to make any real compromises in this regard. This also applies to charging, as the Jelly Max supports 66 watt charging, which means the smartphone can be charged to 90% in 20 minutes.

It remains unclear when the Unihertz Jelly Max will go on sale; a crowdfunding campaign will start soon. Unihertz is also reportedly working on a new smartphone with a keyboard - at least if we are to believe the post by a Reddit user, which shows an email from Unihertz that supposedly confirms this.
