UnifyDrive UT2 launches soon as pocket-sized NAS with support for up to 16 TB NVMe storage
UnifyDrive has introduced UT2 as an easy backup solution for creatives and professionals. With support for up to 16 TB NVMe storage and AI-powered data management features, it aims to simplify managing large amounts of backup data. Of course, those are not the only highlights of this pocket-sized NAS.
The UnifyDrive UT2 features a one-click backup function. It allows you to make backups of SD, CFe, and TF cards hassle-free. As the company notes, this particular feature will be quite handy for outdoor photographers. However, that's not the only way to get your data backed up to this portable NAS.
It has AP Mode, which allows you to access the storage on the NAS wirelessly. You can also use the Ethernet port to get it hooked up to your local network. It can sync your data from cloud services as well. Speaking of the ports, the UT2 has an HDMI port, which enables local playback. It can act like a media device and has support for 8K content.
Under the hood, the UT2 features Rockchip RK3588C SoC, a different variant of the chip that powers SBCs like the Orange Pi 5 (Pro available on Amazon). It's paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32 GB eMMC storage. Thanks to the 6 TOPS NPU, UnifyDrive says that the portable NAS can handle built-in AI functions smoothly.
Other highlights include a built-in battery for uninterrupted backups, WiFi 6, and up to 8 Gbps data transfer speed. The UnifyDrive is expected to be available on Kickstarter on September 25.
