The Twelve South HoverBar Duo (2nd gen) is now available. The gadget is a flexible arm to hold an iPad or iPhone, with a weighted base and an adjustable clamp. Thanks to the new QuickSwitch tab, you can quickly move between the two positions. Firstly, you can attach the HoverBar arm to the base to act as a stand on your desk. Secondly, you can clip the arm to the clamp, which you can attach to a table, shelf or kitchen countertop.
You can adjust the position, height and angle of your device. For example, you could hold an iPad at eye level to take a video call. Or, you could clip the HoverBar to a kitchen counter to record a video or follow a recipe. The gadget will make it easier to utilise software features such as Universal Control, Sidecar and the upcoming Stage Manager by holding your iPad next to your monitor.
The HoverBar Duo is compatible with all iPad models, including iPad Pro and iPad Mini, as well as iPhone models like the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Mini. You could also use the device to hold a Nintendo Switch. When fully extended, the arm measures 15-in (~38 cm), and the iPad clip has a maximum width of 220 mm (~8.68-in).
You can buy the Twelve South HoverBar Duo (2nd gen) for US$79.99, making it US$20 more expensive than the first version. The gadget is available in matte black, as was the original device; a new matte white color is also available for the latest model.
