Brydge ProDock Thunderbolt 4 MacBook vertical docking station launches with wireless charger
The Brydge ProDock is now available to pre-order in the US. The gadget is a Thunderbolt 4 MacBook vertical docking station, compatible with the MacBook Pro 2021 (16-inch and 14-inch) and MacBook Air 2022; the device comes with three docking sleeves to suit each device.
You can use the ProDock to expand your range of ports without taking up too much desk space. A 40 GB 90 W Power Delivery Thunderbolt 4 plug connects your MacBook to the device. On the rear of the gadget are three Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports, three 5.5 W USB-A ports and an Ethernet port capable of 1 Gbps.
A 5.5 USB-C port, SD card reader and 3.5 mm audio jack are located on the sides of the dock. On the front of the Brydge ProDock is a 15 W MagSafe and Qi-compatible wireless charger, allowing you to charge gadgets like your smartphone or headphones. The dock is mains powered via a DC-in port and 135 W power supply.
Plus, the gadget can provide up to 90 W power and supports dual 4K displays at up to 60 Hz. You can pre-order the Brydge ProDock in the US for US$399.99; the gadget is due to ship in Fall 2022. It is unclear whether or when the device will be available in other markets.
