There are already rumors that Apple will be holding a launch event in late October, and it appears this event could be when Cupertino officially announces both the next-generation iPad and the M2 iPad Pro. Not too long ago, MySmartPrice shared a group of CAD renderings that showed the iPad 2022 from practically every angle, although there were still quite a few details missing from the whole picture. Now, a source on Naver with the user ID “yeux1122” has shared a list of 10th-gen iPad specs that were apparently sourced from a Chinese manufacturer.
Along with mentioning that the 2022 Apple iPad could be announced at the end of October at the same time as the M2 iPad Pro, which was recently in the news due to an alleged price leak, the forum poster also states that the newer design for the iPad will allow it to have a thinner profile. As well as that, it is reported that the iPad 10 will have a larger display, flatter bezels, and an “overhanging rear camera”. Presumably this means that the camera housing will be a considerable bump that is not flush with the rear surface.
The same source, who MacRumors has pointed out as being accurate at times but also fallible, claims the 2022 iPad will be powered by an Apple A14 Bionic chip, will not feature a 3.5 mm audio jack, and it will sport a USB-C port. There is no mention of whether a laminated display will be present in this particular leak; however, an earlier rumor about the iPad 10 stated that it would come with a fully laminated panel, which would be an upgrade from the 9th-generation iPad. Measurements for the upcoming tablet, as shared by MySmartPrice, supposedly stand at 248.62 x 179.50 x 6.98 mm (9.78 x 7.07 x 0.27 in).
