Donald Trump's smartphone is late to the party.
The Trump Mobile T1, the flagship smartphone of the U.S. president's mobile brand, missed its promised release window of September. The phone, which was originally advertised with a launch window of August or September (depending on the source), has yet to ship to consumers that preordered it.
The T1 Phone 8002, as it's officially known, sports a gold finish and what appears to be modest mid-range Android specs. Not much is known about the phone (if it even exists at this point), but the Trump Mobile store page lists the phone with 256 GB of expandable storage, a 6.25-inch "Punch-Hole AMOLED" screen with an "In-Screen Fingerprint Sensor + AI Face Unlock," a 50 MP rear camera with a 2 MP depth sensor and 2 MP macro lens, a 16 MP selfie camera, and a 5000 mAh battery that supports 20 Watt fast charging via the USB-C 2.0 OTG port. It's advertised to run Android 15.
Interestingly, it seems the release date isn't the only thing that's changed on the phone's website. While it was originally sold as an "American-made" phone, the language on the store page no longer makes this claim. Instead, Trump Mobile appears to have walked that statement back, stating only that the T1 is "Designed with American values in mind" with "American hands behind every device" and that the phone will be "brought to life right here in the USA." This last claim is quite unclear as to whether the phone will be manufactured, assembled, or merely sold in the United States.
The T1 is listed at $499, but it is currently only available as a preorder for $100, which includes a month of Trump Mobile cellular service. Trump Mobile has received largely negative reviews due to hidden fees, spotty service, and lackluster customer support.
