If you like horror video games and play on consoles, a unique title is coming soon to PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series. But watch out, because it might just terrify and haunt you for days.

The world of video games is vast, with many different genres. But there's one that stands apart and is enjoyed by thousands of gamers, and that's none other than horror. And it falls well, because if you like to shiver in front of your screen, an independent game is about to be released on console, and it just might scare you.

We're talking about BrokenLore: Don't Watch, a first-person psychological horror game. Developed by Serafini Productions, it belongs to the BrokenLore series, which has already made a name for itself in the past.

As for the gameplay of this terrifying game, you play as Shinji, a hikikomori. If you haven't heard of the term, it refers to a person who lives in seclusion at home, cut off from the rest of the world. So, stuck in his room, this young man plays video games to prevent his anxiety from escalating too much.

But his mental health is rapidly declining, and you'll have to deal with a number of psychotic disorders. And during this time, a diabolical creature named Hyakume is watching you, ready to attack at just the right moment.

As a player, emotions such as fear will be present. Indeed, the further you progress in the story, the more you'll feel you're being watched, and the more you'll experience hallucinatory episodes. However, beware if you're sensitive to themes such as social isolation, psychological distress and mental health, as these subjects are at the heart of the plot in BrokenLore: Don't Watch.

Whatever the case, this game is highly rated, as is the case on Steam, where it has been available since April 25, 2025. Indeed, with 285 reviews and an evaluation rate of up to 83%, this independent horror game has made a name for itself in this field. And if you're a console gamer, you'll have to wait until August 18 before you can play it on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
