The Honor Win's sequel could keep the massive battery and fast charging of the original. Honor is also rumored to be adding a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor along with a slightly bigger screen.

The Honor Win 2 could be picking up the gaming phone baton from the Honor Win sooner than later, with a new leak that teases a souped-up processor, a slightly larger screen, and the same old beefy battery. The Honor Win 2 has yet to be officially announced by Honor, with the company's next high-profile launch expected to be the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro.

The report comes from tipster Digital Chat Station posting on Weibo. The tipster refers to the phone obliquely, claiming it is to have a 6.89-inch 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate. The battery is tipped to be 10,000 mAh, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and full water resistance round out the specs list. Though the massive battery remains much the same, it's expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. This 2nm mobile chip is Qualcomm's upcoming flagship processor, expected to debut later this year with a Pro model in tow for super flagship phones. This would see an upgrade over the Honor Win, which launched with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The display also sees an improvement, being slightly larger at 6.89 inches compared to the Honor Win's 6.83 inches, while the resolution sees a bump from 1.5K (2,800 x 1,272) to 2K.

A gamer's dream?

Honor aims the Win series at gaming audiences, and a larger screen and a more powerful processor would certainly scratch that itch. Though the leaks make no mention of the inclusion of a fan, we can't imagine Honor drops that much lauded feature for a sequel.

NotebookCheck reviewed the original Honor Win strongly, concluding: "The Honor Win offers all the features expected from a true premium-class phone: a very bright display, a good camera system, and a large 10,000 mAh battery that enables long runtimes and also recharges relatively quickly." The Honor Win 2 is expected to launch sometime later this year. Like its previous iteration, it is likely to be a China-exclusive, available only in Europe via import.
